Meet Jess & Steve — two people who believe that helping people matters.

Hi, we’re Jess and Steve!

How Can We Help started with a pretty simple idea: if we have the ability to make someone’s life a little easier, why wouldn’t we?

Jess has always been someone who finds herself helping wherever she can. She’s a natural organizer, a cleaner, a crafter, a problem-solver, and, according to Steve, someone who has a hard time saying no when somebody needs a hand. She loves taking something that feels overwhelming and turning it into something manageable again.

Over the years, Steve became a big part of that same vision. He’s always been someone who is happiest when he can step in, figure something out, and make a difficult job a little easier. Whether it’s getting his hands dirty, solving a problem, lending a hand, or simply being there when someone needs support, helping people has always come naturally to him.

Eventually, we realized that this was something we wanted to build together.

We started small, helping people with cleaning and whatever other jobs they needed a hand with. About five years later, that little idea has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of.

Along the way, we realized that the part we loved most wasn’t just making a house clean — it was seeing the relief on someone’s face when a job that had been weighing on them was finally taken care of.

We’re in the business of helping people.

Sometimes that means cleaning a home for a busy parent who hasn’t had a moment to breathe.

Sometimes it means helping a senior with things that have become difficult to manage alone.

Sometimes it means organizing the room that’s been driving someone crazy for six months, helping with a move, taking care of the yard, or simply tackling the pile of things that life has gotten in the way of.

And sometimes, it’s just about giving someone back a little bit of their time.

We don’t believe anyone should feel embarrassed about needing help. Life gets busy. Things happen. Homes get messy. To-do lists get long. Mess means life is happening. It means people are living, growing, working, raising families, creating memories, and sometimes just trying to get through the week.

Everyone needs an extra set of hands sometimes.

We’re building How Can We Help because we want to be those hands.

Five years after that little idea began, we’re still a small, local business, and that’s something we’re proud of. When you hire us, you know who you’re getting. We care about the people we work for, we care about the quality of what we do, and we genuinely want you to feel better when we leave than you did when we arrived.
